Dorothy Alene Jones (Clark)

Dorothy Alene Jones, 87 of Independence, MO passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 at her residence. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the East Independence Church of Christ 2020 S. 291 Hwy, Independence, MO 64057. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. Dorothy was born December 11, 1929 in Brockwell, AR to Elton and Kate (Dockins) Clark. She was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the East Independence Church of Christ. Survivors include: her husband of nearly 70 years, Wilson Jones of the home; 4 daughters, Kathy Pearce and husband Tom, Rhonda Hixon and husband Lynn, Geraldine Best and husband Dexter and Sherry Haynes all of Independence, MO; a brother, Buddy Clark and wife Ruby of Conroe, TX; 2 sisters, Mary Tolbert of Mt. Lake Terrace, WA and Carolyn Phipps and husband Gale of Brockwell, AR; 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Clark and a granddaughter, Shelley Tormena.
