Janearl V. "Auntie� Jones, 86, of Independence died December 15, 2006 at The Groves. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 23rd from 10:00 until 11:00 am at Mt. Washington Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Washington Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery.
She was born in Independence, Missouri on January 22, 1920 the daughter of James Luther and Della Lee (Powell) Jones. She was retired as a Secretary for the Independence School Board and also from Jackson County where she was one of the original programmers. Janearl was also a partner in an advertising agency.
She was affectionately known by many as "Auntie�. Janearl was a generous person who always put others first. She was a wonderful Aunt and loved people, especially children. Her life was dedicated to feeding the hungry. She ran the Service Center for her church and prepared Bread of Life Dinners every Saturday while her health permitted. She was a member of the Mt. Washington Baptist Church. Janearl enjoyed rock collecting and stamp collecting and was a member of the Independence Gem and Mineral Society. She also enjoyed flower gardening and sports cars.
Janearl was preceded in death by her parents and by a sister, Maryellen Anderson. She is survived by a brother-in-law, Wiley S. Anderson of Hendersonville, N.C., two nephews, Steve Anderson and his wife Sherry and Scott Anderson and his wife Marsha all of Independence, a niece Susan Anderson of Belmont, N.C. and by two great nephews, two great nieces, four great great nephews and three great great nieces.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Mt. Washington Baptist Church for the Service Center so that her work might continue. Online condolences to www.speakschapel.com.
