Jason L. Jones

Jason Jones, 43, of Independence, MO, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015. A Visitation will be held form 6-8 pm Sunday, January11, 2015 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Funeral Services will be the following day, 200 pm Monday, January 12, at the Chapel. Burial will take place in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Jason was born on March 5, 1971 to Hersel Jr. and Marilyn (Roberts) Jones in Independence, MO. He was a graduate of VanHorn High School Class of 1989. Jason had worked for McKeever Price Chopper for over 20 years. He enjoyed the wonderful friends that he had made there, both customers, and employees. Jason also volunteered at the local Fire Station, which was also another passion he had. In his spare time he enjoyed entertaining others on Sunday Jams by playing the drums. Jason loved playing pinball, Play Station, but perhaps his favorite was scratch off Lottery tickets. Survivors include; mother Marilyn Jones; father Hersel Jones Jr; sister Shannon Jones; special niece KayLynn Jones, and aunts, uncles, and cousins.Memorial contributions may be made in Jason’s memory to the Humane Society or Cancer Action.
