Kenneth L. Jones, 81, Independence, MO died Dec. 3, 2007. Services will begin 11 am, Dec. 8, 2007 at Speaks Suburban Chapel with a Tribe of Mic-O-Say Memorial Service; interment at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 �" 11 am Sat. at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions to the American Lung Assoc. or the Boy Scouts Heart of America Council.
Ken was born April 28, 1926 in Independence, MO and was a life-long resident. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in the Class of 1944. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of WW II. Following the war, Ken worked at Standard Oil in Sugar Creek. He later owned his own home building company and built many homes in Independence. He retired from his position as a maintenance supervisor for the Jackson County Juvenile Court. He was currently an Elder for the Susquehanna Restoration Group and former Presiding Elder of Susquehanna Hills R.L.D.S. Church. He was also a Mason and a Hardway Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Ken was an avid hunter and a fan of the Chiefs, Royals and Mizzou Tigers. He and his wife enjoyed many years of travel together.
Ken is survived by his wife of 58 years Margie Jones, of the home; son Craig Jones and wife Karen, Kansas City, MO; daughter Jill Schlosser and husband Rick; sister Wanda Kosmicke, all of Independence, MO grandchildren Mike Cline, Aaron Jones, Ryan Cline and wife Nicole, Braden Spangler, Kyle Spangler; great-grandchildren Marcus & Koby Cline.
