Linda Kay Jones, 73, of Independence, MO passed away October 28, 2020. A visitation will take place from 6-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 9, at Mt. Washington Cemetery (everyone will meet at 1:45 p.m. at the Truman Rd. Gate and will follow the hearse up for the service). Linda was born January 8, 1947 in Independence, MO to Samuel and Gertrude (Snyder) Cordill. She was passionate about her MANY recipes, the KC Royals and KC Chiefs, and enjoyed playing Bunko and Bingo. Linda belonged to the Pilot’s Club. She also enjoyed her visits with her fellow Van Horn Class of 65 Alumni. She had worked for Higdon and Hale CPA firm, and was known to be a very fast typist. Linda could type 120+ words a minute, to which her computers had a hard time keeping up. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewayne Jones Sr.; daughter, Tami Lynn Jones; and parents, Samuel and Gertrude Cordill. Linda is survived by her son, Dewayne “Kip” Jones, Jr.; two sisters, Donna Chambers and Debbie Bartlett; two grandchildren, William and Shey Jones; great grandson, Declyn Ryker Jones; one great granddaughter on the way, Addilynn Marie; and Linda’s four legged children/dogs, Gracie, Ballie and Bella.
