Louise Marie Jones, 83, Independence, MO passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014.
Louise was born September 20, 1930 in Wichita, KS the daughter of Andrew and Fannie Pearl (Steeby) Pyles. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Louise worked at the Independence Animal Hospital for over 25 years before retiring. After retirement she moved to Pomme de Terre Lake with her husband Virgil Jones. Louise enjoyed reading, cooking and especially spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her first husband Gene Hammond in 1967, four sisters, five brothers and her parents.
Survivors include her loving husband, Virgil Jones of 32 years; son, Gary Hammond and wife Linda; daughter, Cheryl Hughes; stepsons, Harold Jones and wife Pat, Gary W. Jones and wife Linda; stepdaughter, Linda Stone; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and family.
A memorial visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Private inurnment will be at a later date at Floral Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Great Plains ASPCA.
