Patsy Eleanor Jones (Parrish)

Patsy Jones, 83, 0f Independence, MO passed away peacefully at her home on October 28, 2017. Patsy was born on October 3, 1934 in Carbondale, IL to Mack and Margaret Parrish. She is preceded in death by her beloved Robert Russell (Bob) Jones. Bob passed away on September 12, 2017. They were married for over 65 years. To this union 4 children were born - Patrick, Megan, Kent, and Kelly. One of which, Megan, preceded her in death as well. Bob and Patsy were members of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Independence from 1960, and proud to raise her family in the church. She was also very active in the Boy Scouts of America-Troops 356 and 226. For over 35 years Patsy was a teacher in the Hickman Mills School District, teaching gifted and talented students. She also taught special education. Besides family, Patsy loved the outdoors and nature. Every vacation was an adventure. She provided family and friends opportunities to camp, hunt, fish, ski, and explore by investing in, and becoming part of the Lake Nehai Tonkayea community in northern Missouri. She was also a member of the Jacomo Yacht Club and enjoyed sailing in the Gulf of Mexico. Traveling to see the grandeurs of Nature was a passion she never lost. All of us who went on journeys with her returned wiser than when we left. One of Patsy’s other true enjoyments in life was music, playing both the violin and piano. She was also artist and enjoyed painting, and various crafts such as quilting.
