Pearl L. Jones, 99, of Independence, MO passed away July 21, 2012 at Carmel Hills Nursing Center. A private graveside service is being held for the family. She was born March 8, 1913 in Erbie, Arkansas to John D. and Ardelia Richardson. She had lived in Independence, MO since her marriage to Joseph Ted Jones on July 1, 1931. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ted Jones; five sisters, Ethel Johnson, Agnes Fox, Jewell Petree, Gladys McFerrin and Opal Sims; and one brother, John H. Richardson. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann McInnes, Independence, MO; son, John A. Jones of Holden, MO; grandson, Dr. David A. McInnes, Jacksonville, FL; great grandchildren, Mallory McInnes, Miami, FL, Joseph McInnes, Bremen Germany; and one sister, Ruby Sims of Oklahoma City, OK. Ted and Pearl were charter members of Central Assembly of God Church and were a very active part of the church life for many years. Pearl taught a children’s Sunday school class, vacation Bible School and belonged to the women’s groups. Ted served as a deacon for many years and became deacon emeritus upon retirement from that post. Pearl enjoyed all types of handwork including crocheting, quilting and painting. She loved and grew all varieties of flowers, plants and shrubs and shared those with family and friends.
