Thelma Jean Jones (Evans)

Thelma Jean Jones, 83, of Independence, MO, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Funeral Services will be the following day at 10:00 am, Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Chapel. Thelma was born on April 14, 1931 in Kansas City, Mo to Erman and Bernice (Medley) Evans. Thelma was married to the love of her life Jerry D. Jones, Sr., for over 65 years. He preceded her in death in November 2014. Thelma enjoyed traveling the country in their RV, tending to her flowers, and hosting the family for the Holiday’s. Perhaps her greatest pleasure was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Thelma was a Return Specialist with the IRS for many years. Survivors include; sons Jerry Jones, Jr, David Jones, and Michael Jones; daughter Vickie Jones; brothers Jack Evans, Richard Evans, Larry Evans Buddy Evans, and Ron Evans; sisters Rose Ann Evans and Marlene Evans, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
