Hjalmar “Sonny” Jorgensen, 80, Lee’s Summit, MO, died peacefully at Villages of Jackson Creek Memory Care on September 25, 2012.
Sonny was born October 15, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY the son of Hjalmar and Lilly (Johanessen) Jorgensen. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954.
Sonny married Judy Swortwood on September 13, 1953, additional survivors include his daughter, Lucy Jorgensen; sons, William Jorgensen and wife Sandy, Thomas Jorgensen and wife Patti; ten grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Jorgensen and his parents. Sonny will be cremated and no services are planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
