Joseph Michael Muncy, lovingly known as Joe or Joe Mike, was born on January 20, 1969, in Kansas City, Missouri. He entered into rest much too soon on March 7, 2025, surrounded by love. Joe's vibrant spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a fun-loving individual who embraced life with an unwavering positivity. His infectious laughter and love for family painted a beautiful picture of the man he was.
Joe worked as a tow truck driver for Independence Specialty Tow for many years, showcasing his dedication to his craft and his community. In his final year, he joined NAPA, where he continued to embody that same commitment and enthusiasm for his work. A proud classmate of Van Horn High School, Joe would always carry forward the lessons of hard work and perseverance into every aspect of his life.
To his wife and children, Joe was not just a husband and father; he was their steadfast supporter and their biggest fan. He invested his heart and soul into his family, which he considered to be his greatest achievement. Joe cherished the moments spent together, whether it was cheering on the Chiefs, enjoying a cold beer while fishing, or indulging in bonfires and four-wheeling adventures. He found joy in the simple things—tinkering in his shed, listening to classic rock and country music, and embracing nature.
Many remember Joe as a jokester who could lighten any room with his humor and zest for life. His warmth and kindness enveloped everyone he met, and he will be deeply missed by his wife and children, mother, siblings, and his beloved family and friends.
Joe is survived by his wife, Kimberley Muncy; children, Deborah Zingre, Dustin Muncy, Dammion (Lindsey Hurt) Muncy, Lukas Muncy; stepson, Logan (Timberley Allen) Sleichter; grandchildren, AJ Zingre, Braden Muncy, Madison Muncy, Scarlett Muncy, Landis Sleichter, Lincoln Sleichter; his father/mother-in-law Dan and Bonnie Stewart, mother, Esther Muncy; siblings, Louise (Rob) Ross, David Matthew (Angela) Muncy, Jamie (Melody) Muncy.
