Josephine Cash, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, left behind a legacy of love and kindness when she passed away on December 13, 2023. Born on February 14, 1929, in Kansas City, MO, Josephine was a remarkable woman whose life touched the hearts of all who knew her.
After graduating from Center High School, Josephine embarked on her journey as a devoted homemaker. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was curling up with a good book, indulging in her favorite Hallmark Channel movies, or pursuing her hobbies of sewing, cooking, gardening, and going to garage sales, Josephine embraced each day with enthusiasm.
Josephine leaves behind son, Richard Brian Cash and daughter, Johanna (Matt) Hogue; grandchildren—Alexandra Knapp, Andrew Baker, Allison (Jeffrey) Baker, Zachary (Jordan) Cash, Kathryn Cash, Jessica Cash, Kariss Cash, and Jackson Cash; great-grandchildren—Riley Baker, Lucas Cruz, Chloe Cruz, Bethany Cash, and Riley Cash; sister-in-law, Wanda "Kitty" Whitworth; nieces and nephews—Avril A. Teale, John E. (Erin) Teale, Laura (Rid) Ullom; great-nieces and nephews—Chris Ullom, Jessica Ullom, Shannon Teale, and Braden Teale. Finally, Samuel the cat occupied a special place in Josephine's heart.
Josephine is preceded in death by her beloved husband, M. "Earl" Cash; brother Dr. John H. Teale and his wife Shirley and daughter-in-law, Susan Cash, who held a special place in her heart.
As we gather to honor Josephine's memory at the Memorial Service at 10am on December 22, 2023 at Carson-Speaks Chapel located at 1501 W Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052- we come together not only to mourn but also to celebrate a life that made the world a brighter place.
