Josephine Ann Corey, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025, in Independence, Missouri. Born on June 20, 1940, in Madera, California, she lived a life filled with kindness and love that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Josephine was a beacon of warmth and compassion. Her spirit remained unyielding, as she embraced life's challenges with grace. Whether she was seated on her porch, watching the fireflies dance in the twilight or the storms roll in, she found beauty in every moment. Her love for music, particularly Elvis and older country tunes, provided the soundtrack to her cherished memories, creating a legacy of happiness that will resonate with her family and friends forever.
She is survived by her children, Eugene Corey, Carolyn Henderson, Rita (James) Miller, William (Mary) Corey, Jr.; she raised, Eugen Paul Corey III; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sister Frances (Doug) Newcomb and an extended circle of family and friends who all share treasured memories of her gentle spirit.
Josephine joins her beloved parents, Francis and Matilda Madonna; brothers, Richard Madonna, Jimmy Madonna, Mike Madonna; and sisters, Delores Sharka, Mary Madonna, Madeline Madonna in everlasting peace. While she may have departed from this earthly realm, her loving presence will linger in the hearts of those she cherished. The kindness she showed daily inspires all of us to carry on her legacy of love, kindness, and appreciation for life's simple pleasures. Jo’s life was a beautiful mosaic of warmth and joy; she will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
