Shirley Ann Judy, 79, a long-time resident of Independence, MO, died Wednesday, Dec 23rd at The Groves in Independence. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00am, Thursday, Dec. 29th with a memorial service following at 10:00am, both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Shirley was born to Ralph and Rachael Michaelis in 1937, in Fairfax, MO. She graduated from Craig High School in Craig, MO. She then married Donald Judy in 1956. Shirley loved the outdoors, hiking, horseback riding, being a Cub Scout Den Mother, Campfire leader and baseball mom. She was also an avid Royals and Chiefs fan, but the joys of her life were her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her many nephews and nieces. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Marcia Griffin and family of Independence, her son, Randy Judy and family of Evergreen, CO; a sister, Betty Wright of Buckner, MO; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
