Julia Flores Morales, a strong woman of faith, has sadly left us on November 26, 2023. Born in Mexico City, Mexico on October 7, 1936, Julia's life was filled with love, faith, and an unwavering commitment to helping others.
As a young woman Julia found the love of her life and best friend, Medardo Morales. They spent 66 years creating a life together and to that union came four children, Edith, Xavier, Maricela and Nicce. In 1967 they made the decision to move their family to the United States to give them a better life. Not knowing the customs here or the English language they took a leap of faith and never looked back. Over the years Julia was determined to move her entire extended family to the U.S. as well and was thrilled to accomplish it. Some would say she completely changed their lives for the better and they wouldn’t be who they are today without her.
Julia dedicated her career to caring for others as a nurses aide for the Little Sisters of the Poor. Her tireless efforts within the organization touched the lives of countless individuals in need. Her selflessness knew no bounds as she went above and beyond to provide comfort and support to those under her care. Julia's kind heart and gentle nature made her a beacon of light. Beyond her professional endeavors, Julia was actively involved within the church community. She was a member of the El Buen Pastor Church for many years and one of her favorite things to partake in was leading both the Easter and Christmas program plays. She most recently attended the First Baptist Church of Kansas City, Kansas.
Julia's warm and welcoming personality endeared her to all who crossed her path. Her genuine interest in others meant that she never knew a stranger. Whether it was lending a listening ear or offering words of encouragement, Julia had an ability to make everyone feel valued and loved. She possessed a beautifully radiant smile that could brighten even the darkest days. In her spare time, Julia enjoyed sewing and embroidery. She took great pride in creating intricate designs and crafting every piece of clothing she wore. Julia was also an incredible cook.
The legacy left behind by Julia Flores Morales is one that will forever be etched in the hearts of all those she touched. Her unwavering faith, compassionate soul, and boundless love for others have left an indelible mark on the world. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Julia is survived by her children, Edith Mendoza (Manuel), Nicce Morales and Maricela Arias (Octavio); brother, Joel Flores; sister, Ester Aguilar; 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
