Virgil C. Julian, 69, Independence, MO passed away June 8, 2012. Services will be at 10 am, Wed. June 13 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055; interment at Six Mile Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Tuesday at the chapel.
Virgil was born Feb. 22, 1943 in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in the Class of 1961. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for thirty-eight years and served as Post Master in Winston, MO for five years before retiring in 1998. He was a Mason and took part in Civil War re-enactments during his time in Winston. He was a NASCAR fan whose favorite drivers were the late Dale Earnhardt and Kevin Harvick. He also played bass in country and gospel bands over the years.
Virgil is survived by daughter Lorri Trotter and husband Bill, Nixa, MO; son John Julian, Lee’s Summit, MO; parents Goldie & Delbert Lewis, Independence, MO; grandchildren Logan & Lukas Trotter; Makenna, Mason & Macoy Julian; great-granddaughter Abigail Trotter and many cousins.
