Marilyn Jean Kaler, 83, passed away on November 22, 2016.
A graveside service will be held at Mound Grove Cemetery on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at 1:00 p.m.
Marilyn was born on January 16, 1933, in Erie, PA, to Clarence Eugene and Beatrice (Horner) Adams. She moved to the Independence in 1953, and had been a resident of Odessa for the last 17 years. She married Donald Eugene Kaler in 1953, and to this union were born three children. She worked as a cashier for Raytown United Super/IGA. She enjoyed yardwork, planting flowers, going on camping trips and decorating for the holidays. Nothing brought her more joy than to gather her family and serve them a delicious hot meal of meatloaf or lasagna – and her pies completed the whole experience! She was a wonderful, caring, loving woman, with a great smile and a warm heart.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Donald; and brother, Clarence Adams. Marilyn will be missed by her three children, Richard, of Lawrence, KS, Robert, of Odessa, MO, and Mary, of Henrietta, TX; three grandsons, Kristopher, Nicholas, and Patrick; three great-grandchildren, Nathan, Blaine, and Anikah; and two brothers, William Adams, of Edinborough, PA, and Richard Adams, of Erie, PA.
