Flossie M. Kalthoff, 93, of Independence, MO passed on Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at the Carmel Hills Living Center. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, MO. The service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Flossie was born on April 10, 1913 in Sedalia, MO to Robert and Annie Wilson. She married Theodore John Kalthoff of Concordia, MO who passed away in May of 1995. She spent much of her time raising four Boy Scouts, all Eagles and members of Mic-O-Say at Osceola, MO. Flossie worked tirelessly with the Jackson County election board as a judge. Since her home is directly across from the Harry S. Truman Library, she became friends with President Truman. Her vegetable garden and flowers occupied a great deal of her time. She loved rummy tile. Flossie had high regards for family tradition. The big holidays were always a feast to remember, and left everyone with full stomachs. Everybody was welcome at Flossie�s house. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Independence, MO. Flossie is survived four sons, ages 49-71; Robert Kalthoff of Kansas City, MO, Ted and wife Sharon Kalthoff and their two children, T. Jay (Wichita, KS) and Lisanne of Arkansas, Dennis and wife Brenda Kalthoff and their two children, Brandon and wife Stephanie, and Nathan of Independence, MO, and David and Karen Kalthoff of Independence, MO.
