Stanley D. Kane, 80, of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, September 2, 2004 at his home. Visitation will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the chapel, with the burial at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Stanley was born on March 17, 1924 in Kansas City, MO to Elbert and Rena (Hopper) Kane. Stanley graduated high school from Shawnee Mission North. He went on to serve in the Army in WWII, and was a member of the Sugar Creek Memorial Post #3976. Stanley was one of the first ten drivers to work for Yellow Freight Trucking Company, and was with them for 33 years. In his free time, he loved to shoot pool as well as flying his own plane. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Patsy R. Kane; children, Sondra S. Mott, Douglas D. Kane, Scheryl D. Walker, Josie L. Blaser, Ruth J. Deremer and Connie A. Foster; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
