Barbara Kankey

Barbara June Kankey passed away Sunday, February 29, 2004 in her home after a long hard battle. Services will be 10 am, Thursday, March 3, 2004, at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Lobb Cemetery. Visitation will be 7 - 8:30 Wed. at the funeral home. Barbara was born November 18, 1941 in Violet Hill, Arkansas to Clifton and Carma Bookout. She grew up in Arkansas and moved to Independence after she married Dale Wayne Kankey. With several jobs throughout, she enjoyed clerking for Circle K Auctions with her husband and family best. Always ready to help anyone, she was a very loving and caring person. She was close to her family and friends, always there to spend time and have fun with her grandchildren, children, and husband. She is all of our best friend. Heartbroken, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jason Wayne Kankey, her mother Carma Bookout, and son-in-law, Brian Schulte. Her survivors include her husband Dale Kankey of the home. Her daughter Jolene Schulte Netherton, son-in-law Greg Netherton. Two grandchildren, SPC Jeremy Brian Schulte and Brandolyn Jolene Schulte; her loving daddy, Clifton Bookout and brother, Jerry Bookout, two nephews and one niece. She will be very missed, but always with us.
