Robert D. “Bob” Karch, 93, Independence, MO passed away Oct. 5, 2018. No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation. The family requests contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Bob was born to Zerby Elizah and Sylvia (Barrett) Karch on Aug. 1, 1925 in Tulsa, OK and grew up there. His father died when he was ten years old. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and served in WW II. He received two years of college training while in the Air Corps and in the NABAC
201 School for Bank Auditors and Comptrollers at the University of Wisconsin. He started at First National Bank in 1967 and the bank’s name was later changed to Centere Bank. Bob rose to the position of President and CEO and developed the Bank South location in Independence.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years S. Earlene Karch in 2009. He is survived by daughters Kathy Karch, Belton, MO; Sandra Daniel, Roach, MO; Barbara Richards, Colorado, Springs, CO; grandchildren Bryan Chapman; Alan Lang and wife Kelly, all of Strausberg, CO; Derek Daniel, Osage Beach, MO; Joshua Moran, Colorado Springs, CO; several great-grandchildren and many other family members.
