Kathryn Elizabeth “Kathy” Stuart passed away on September 18, 2024 in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. Kathy was born on November 22, 1957, in Seattle, Washington to Melvin and Shirley (Herring) Miller.
While she dedicated much of her life to caring for her home and family, Kathy also took on the tasks of cleaning homes for additional income, always balancing her responsibilities with grace and a smile. She was known for her incredible cooking skills, particularly her homemade hot sauce, which brought joy to family gatherings and made every meal uniquely special. Her love for cooking extended to her culinary adventures in the kitchen, where her favorite food was Mexican cuisine, seasoned liberally with salt and Tabasco sauce.
In her downtime, Kathy found great joy playing games on her iPad, particularly Candy Crush, and loved to unwind by watching her favorite soap operas, Wheel of Fortune, and The Bachelor with a cup of coffee in hand.
Kathy was known for her kind spirit, jovial personality, and remarkable capacity for empathy. She had a unique ability to listen with care, making those who spoke to her feel seen and heard. Her friends and family often admired her gentle nature and her willingness to help others, as she had a hard time saying no. Each time she entered a room, her warmth and positivity radiated, making an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
Kathryn is survived by her children, Toni (Humberto) Miller-Ramirez, Shannon (Tierra) Miller, Carrie (Mobeen) Hashmi, Monica (Ernie) Gault, Melissa (Bob) Stuart and Mary (David) Hughes; 24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roland; her parents, Melvin and Shirley Miller; brother, Jimmy Herring and sister, Debbie (Miller) Bottorff.
Kathryn's life will be honored with a visitation on Friday September 27, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Carson-Speaks Chapel located in Independence, Missouri. This will be followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM and placement at Mount Washington Mausoleum immediately following.
As we remember Kathryn, let us hold onto the beautiful memories she has left behind—the laughter, the warmth, and the love she shared with so many. She will forever remain in our hearts, a testament to a life well-lived and a spirit that will never fade.
