Kathy Jo Kraner

Kathy Jo Kraner left this world on Sept 5, 2024 in Lees Summit., Missouri. She was born on Oct 27, 1962 in Taylorville, IL. Her family moved to FL in the 1970s. They remained until 1993 when they moved to the Kansas City area to be near extended family. Kathy enjoyed time with cousins, aunts and uncles.

On May 1, 2010, she married Delbert Sims, the love of her life. Their union was a true blessing for both of them. Their lives were further enhanced when Habitat for Humanity built them a new home, suited for their special needs. In this home, they received loving care from the Center for Developmentally Disabled. These caregivers were like family. Her life was well blessed.

A true testament to her character was her decision to be an organ donor - her last gift. She blessed someone else, and immediately saved two lives. She was a hero. While Kathy’s presence will be profoundly missed, she is survived by her husband and a tapestry of extended family and friends who cherish her memory. Kathy is now reunited with her beloved parents, James and Mary Kraner, and grandparents, who welcome her with open arms. In their embrace, she finds peace.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Fellowship Hall of Connection Point Church, Raytown, Missouri on Thursday, Sept. 19. Visitation will be at 10:30, followed by service at 11 a.m.
