Harry Katowitz

Harry Katowitz, 74, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, January 9, 2006. Services will be 2 pm Friday, January 13th at Carson-Speaks Chapel; with interment in Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Temple Endowment Fund, American Cancer Society, or the Shrine Hospitals for Children. Harry was born November 9, 1931 in Jackson County, MO to Mike and Mae Katowitz. He had retired as Chairman of Katco Rubber Co. in Independence after 31 years. Harry was a member of the Community of Christ, Stone Church Congregation; the Sugar Creek Optimist Club; and the Eagles Aerie #385. Harry is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Connie Katowitz; daughter, Michele D. Malik and husband Amer of Morrisville, NC; grandchildren, Yacob Daniel and Sofia Kay Malik; mother-in-law, Vaughny Burnham; three nieces and three nephews.
