Carole Earlene Kays, 82 of Kansas City, MO passed away Monday, August 31, 2020 at her residence. Cremation is planned with a private family celebration of her life to be held at a later date. Donations may be made in her name to KC Cancer Fund. Carole was born April 18, 1938 in Independence, MO to Franklin and Frances (Kleuver) Kays. She grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Central High School. She had worked for over 30 years for the Federal Government retiring in 1997 as an accountant with the Department of Defense. She later relocated to California to be a caregiver for her ailing parents and stayed there until she moved back to Kansas City in 2018. She enjoyed the outdoors and camping and was a 4-H leader when her children were young. She was also a member of a clown group. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Independence, MO. Survivors include; 4 children, Karen Hatcher and husband Mark of Kansas City, MO, Ray Dubin and wife Vickie of Marshfield, MO, Scott Dubin of Independence, MO and Greg Dubin and wife Kim of Muskogee, OK; a sister, Nancy Lovelace of Phoenix, AZ; her former husband, Sam Dubin, Jr. of Blue Springs, MO, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
