Janice Anne (Neidenberger) Keal, 86, Independence, MO died June 23, 2015 at The Groves. Friends may call between 11:30 AM-1:00 PM Monday, June 29 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Graveside service to follow at 2:00 PM at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3846 W 75th St, Prairie Village, KS 66208. Mrs. Keal was born Jan. 29, 1929 in Kansas City, MO. She was a graduate of Southwest HS and UMKC. She was a member of Cho Chin Sorority (Chi Omega.) She was co-owner of Jim Keal Insurance Agency. She was a partner in business as well as in life with Jim Keal. She met the love of her life during a volleyball game at UMKC where he annoyed her by yelling, “Muscles” every time she launched a serve out of play and into the back wall. The nickname stuck. They were married Sept. 7, 1950 and were deeply in love for 48 years until Jim died Feb. 1, 1999. She is survived by her two sons, Jay Keal and wife Fran, Jeff Keal and wife Laura; grandchildren Rachel, Trent, Taylor and Curtis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Genevieve Neidenberger, as well as her brother, Ted Neidenberger. Janice was a knowledgeable, passionate and long-time season ticket holder of the Chiefs and Royals. She loved adventure, camping, and boating with her family. Janice had a zest for life, beautiful blue eyes, a great laugh, and she was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother.
