Sammie J. (Robb) Keeling, resident of Independence, Missouri, passed Tuesday May 30, 2017 on her 91st birthday at Rosewood Health Center at The Groves. Born May 30, 1926, on the family farm near Armstrong, she was the daughter of Samuel Travis and Jessie Viola (Jackson) Robb. She married Ralph Eugene Keeling on May 16, 1944. Together they moved to Independence in 1950 with just $20 in their pocket. Although she worked a few years at Lake City and Watt Drug, her main passion was that of wife, mother and homemaker, keeping delicious meals on the table and a spotless home. Mrs. Keeling is survived by her husband, Ralph; two children, Barbara Baker and husband (Fred), Dean Keeling and wife (Teresa), all of Independence; five grandchildren, Jimmy Jackson and wife (Rose), Terry Rogers, Kim Wiley, Shelby Parnell and husband (Clint), Sidney Stecker and husband (Levi); five great grandchildren, Russell Wiley, Jeremy Wiley, Amy Jackson, Tyler Jackson and wife (Megan), Bobby Peoples; one great great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nettie Madylan Robb and Margie Katheryn Brooks. She will be remembered for her love of family, antique collecting and poodles. She is truly missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 5, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 West Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO, 64052.
