Sara Keesee

Sara Keesee, 88, of Independence, MO passed away May 31, 2016. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Sara was born in Clanton County, AL to William H. and Mary E. (Mershimer) Boyd. She moved to the Independence are in 1952. She worked at several jobs around the area, most recently at Wal-Mart. Sara enjoyed word find puzzles and making transfer patterns for quilts. She never missed any movies with either John Wayne or Elvis Presley when they came on! She was a member of the Community of Christ Church. She leaves behind a large caring and loving family who will miss her greatly. Survivors include; daughters Patsy Andrus and Betty Foster-Peterson; sons Paul Sloan, Dale Sloan, and Roy Sloan; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; a large extended family and a host of friends. Sara is preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Sloan and Alfred Keesee, and her parents. Graveside services 12pm, Friday, June 10, 2016 at Mission Ridge Cemetery, Urbana, MO.
