Fredrick A. Keil, 87, Kansas City, MO passed away July 24, 2016. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 am, Sat., Aug. 13 at Norfleet Baptist Church, 5512 Norfleet Road, Kansas City, MO 64133. A celebratory lunch will follow. The family requests contributions to the Salvation Army, City Union Mission or the Great Plains SPCA Shelter – all organizations Fred supported. Fred was born May 25, 1929 in Independence MO to Fredrick and Martha (Fitcher) Keil Knight. He worked at the Kansas City Star as a foreman in the mailing room until he retired forty-three years later in 1988. He was a member of the Rockwood Baptist Church where he served as groundskeeper and maintenance man from 1988 – 1999. He drove the church daycare bus and helped maintain daycare for ten years. He then transferred to Norfleet Baptist where he continued his service to God in many capacities. He enjoyed camping but his family was most important to him. Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Keil and son Fredrick Lee Keil. He is survived by daughters Sherril Lines and husband Carroll; Janet Bendure and husband Bill; Jane Fuller and husband Tim; daughter-in law Paula Keil; sister Rowena Lacer; brother Gene Keil; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
