Keith Eugene Shultz, 87, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.  Keith was born on March 2, 1936, in Chilhowee, Missouri, to Samuel Clyde Shultz and Alma Ray (Stewart) Shultz, who preceded him in death.

On December 31, 1952, Keith was united in marriage to Rita Marie Boroughs in Harrison, Arkansas.  Keith worked in inside sales for Metal Goods Corporation from 1954 to 1970.  In 1970, he and his business partner, Frank Gaeta, started Special-T-Metals and they sold the business in 1982.  Keith and Rita were Charter Members of Birchwood Baptist Church in Independence, Missouri.

Keith enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends on his farm in Clinton, Missouri and at his lake house at Lake of the Ozarks in Sunrise Beach, Missouri.  He enjoyed both the KC Chiefs and KC Royals and was a season ticket holder for both teams for over 30 years.  He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  Keith loved his father-in-law, Reverend Marshall Boroughs and his mother-in-law, Kathleen Boroughs.  He was a simple man who loved life and was blessed to have so many friends and loved ones.

Along with his wife Rita, Keith is survived by his daughter, Nancy Collier of Overland Park, Kansas; his son, Jim Shultz and wife Julie, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; four grandchildren, Keith Collier and wife Monica, of Overland Park, Kansas; Brooke Collier of Overland Park, Kansas; Sara Pernice and husband Mike, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; and Avery Andrade of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; seven great grandchildren, Dayton and Hudson Collier; Eva and Iris Rupert; Alice, Lillian and Emilia Pernice; nieces Pamela (Taylor) Eikermann; Donna (Taylor) Harris; and nephew Gregory Stewart.

In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by his sisters, Floy Taylor and Letha Stewart; nephew Richard Stewart; and nieces Ruth Ann (Stewart) Korach and Jacqueline Taylor.

The family will have a private graveside memorial service.  Cremation arrangements are in the care of Speaks Suburban Chapel.
