Doris Marie Kellerman, 83 of Independence, MO passed away peacefully Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Northcare Hospice House with loved ones gathered at her side. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 12:00 p.m., until service time at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to the Kidney Foundation. Doris was born November 18, 1933 in Kansas City, MO to David and Margie Bell (Brewer) Hughes and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a self employed hairdresser who owned Golden Keys Salon for 19 years. She was a member of Birchwood Baptist Church, the ABWA and the FOPLA. She enjoyed crocheting angels, folk art painting, cooking and square dancing. Survivors include; a daughter, Joyce Lust (Ron) of Independence, MO; 2 grandsons, Kevin Turpin (Cheri) and Kent Turpin and a great grand daughter, Zoey Belle Turpin. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Neal Kellerman in 2010, her parents, a son, Harold and a daughter Andrea.
