Evelyn E. (Kelly) Biggerstaff, 99, of Independence, MO, passed away on May 18, 2021, one week shy of turning 100 years old. Evelyn was born on May 25, 1921 in Miranda, South Dakota, to Kenneth and Etheal Davidson. She married L.D. Kelly on November 29, 1938 in Sioux Falls, SD and two children were born to this union: Brenda and Lloyd. After L.D.’s death, she met Harold Biggerstaff and his son Bill. They married in 1958. Evelyn worked as a switchboard operator for Western Auto Supply Company in Kansas City for 25 years. Famous for her peanut brittle, Evelyn loved making goodies for friends and family. From waltz to two-step, one of her favorite things to do was dance two to three times a week. She was a special lady, and she will be dearly missed by family and her many friends. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Brenda; grandchildren, Joe (Sandy), Brett, Tonya (Sean) and Rob; 17 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren, and daughters-in-law, Pat and Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her first husband, L.D.; second husband, Harold; sons, Lloyd and Bill; grandchildren, Kent, Kelly and Marsha, parents, Kenneth and Etheal Davidson and dance partner Gerald Kosman. A visitation to honor Evelyn will be held on Friday, June 4, from 6-8 p.m., with a funeral service the following day, Saturday, June 5, at 10 a.m., both at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street in Independence, MO. She will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, KS at a later date.
