Kelly Marie Imler

October 20, 1970 — February 11, 2024

Kelly was born October 20, 1970, in Windsor, Missouri to Curtis and Sandy Miller. The family moved to Independence, Missouri shortly after she was born.

Kelly graduated from Van Horn High School in 1988. She was on the Falconette Dance Team where she found her love to dance and made lifelong friends. After high school Kelly went to the Independence College of Cosmetology and became a beautician. She worked at a few different shops until she settled in at Back Street Salon where she worked for the past 20 plus years until she had to retire due to her battle with cancer. Kelly was more than a beautician to her clients, she became their trusted friend.

Kelly was a force of nature, she didn’t have a problem speaking her mind, and did most often. She was a fighter and a sweetheart. She had a laugh you could hear from across the room and most of the time it was followed by a good snort. Quick witted and mischievous in nature with a wicked sense of humor. A lover of life and a source of light for so many.

Kelly loved to hang out with friends. She was a big Chiefs fan, she enjoyed listening all kinds of music loud and with the car windows down. She loved going to see her favorite band Sister Hazel anytime she could. She was definitely a sports mom and was there support her boys, whether it was baseball, track, basketball, football or soccer – she wasn’t the mean kind … always encouraging even if her boys didn’t think they did so good. She was the best Mama Bear and Gigi. Her most favorite thing was to spend time with her boys and grandkids.

Kelly was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2014. The cancer unfortunately came back with a vengeance in 2022. Kelly fought as long and as hard as she could with extraordinary courage and love and support from family and friends.

Kelly was survived in death by, her mom Sandy Miller, sister Kim and brother-in-law Brock Gerdts, sons Jeff (Faith Wasson) Imler, Nick Imler, Jaron Imler and Jackson Tyler, grandchildren, Tyler Wasson, Jayson Wasson, Matthew (MJ) Imler and Blaire Imler, nieces and nephew Aubrie Gerdts, Austin Gerdts and Sarah

(Lance) Rivas, great nephew Tucker Rivas, with another great nephew on the way, many other extended family members and friends.

She was proceeded in death by her dad, Curtis Miller and her daughter-in-law Jessica Imler.
