Donald Raymond Kempf (Termite), 82 of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021, at NorthCare Hospice House.
The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Friday, November 26th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 600 N. Liberty, Independence, MO. A Funeral Mass will be held immediately following the visitation. A private family inurnment will be held in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO at a later date. Donations may be made in his name to the VFW.
Donald was born April 15, 1939, in Pilot Grove, MO to Raymond and Ida (Newman) Kempf. He had worked as an inspector at the Ford plant for over 37 years before he retired; he was also a member of the UAW #249. He proudly served in the US Army during Vietnam.
Don loved fishing, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and telling them stories about things that may or may not have happened. He enjoyed watching Missouri Tiger sports and was busy all of the time working or helping family.
He is survived by; his wife of 56 years, Virginia of the home; 2 sons, Greg Kempf and wife Tammy of Liberty, MO and John Kempf and wife Tracy of Lee’s Summit, MO; 2 daughters, Susie Kempf Tieman and Stephanie Griesinger and husband Steve all of Grain Valley, MO; 3 sisters, Lucy Stone and Jeanette Crump both of Booneville, MO and Judy McKerlie of Arkansas; 8 grandchildren, Jesse, Anna, Jordyn, Brett, Zackery, Samantha, Brandon and Cameron and 2 great grandchildren, Cameron and Marie. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Virgil and 2 sisters, Katie and Agnes.
