Jerry Lee Kennedy, 74, of Buckner, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021.
Jerry was born on September 5, 1947, in Joplin, Missouri, the son of Leslie and Dorothy (Fannan) Kennedy.
He graduated from Fort Osage High School and then worked in concrete at his family’s business. Jerry a man who loved art and artistry decided to follow his dream and started Kennedy Knives. He married Catarina Lake on October 17, 2005.
Jerry was an exceptional artisan and craftsman. He loved the outdoors and truly the outdoors from the ocean to the mountains. He was a salt of the earth type of guy, honest, caring, giving, and loving. He loved to try new foods and going out and sitting down to a good meal. Jerry loved great music, fast cars, and a good pair of Frye Boots. He enjoyed horseback riding and watching westerns. Jerry was a very hard worker and saw beauty wherever he looked.
Jerry is survived by his wife Catarina Kennedy; son, Adam Kennedy; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Frasher; brothers, William, and Charley Haley; many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Dorothy Kennedy; sister, Patricia Couch.
Cremation is planned with a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Crossroads Hospice.
