Marvin Orr Kennedy, Sr., 90, Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014.
Marvin was born May 14, 1923 in Kansas City, MO the son of Fred and Gladys (Higgins) Kennedy. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving in WWII. Marvin retired in 1984 from the City of Independence as building inspector supervisor. He enjoyed camping, carpentry, and building and still lived in the same home for 65 years that he built. Marvin met and married his wife Eileen (Scarborough) Kennedy in 1944 in Charleston, SC, she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include his grandsons, Brian Landers, Scott Landers and wife Jacque, and Steve Landers and wife Megan; great grandchildren, Bryce, Kelsi, Taylor, Eliza and William; brother, Charles Kennedy; sister, Patty Ball; nieces, Connie Kennedy and Sandy Oliver. He was preceded in death by his son, Marvin Orr Kennedy, Jr., in 1982; daughter, Linda Sue Landers in 2010, brother, Donald Kennedy and his parents.
