Susan Kennicutt, 66, of Independence, MO, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013. A visitation will be held 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Friday, November 8th at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9th at the chapel. Burial will be at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Independence, MO.
Susan was born April 18, 1947 in Independence to Marion E. “Bud” and Evelyn I. (McDowell) Wagener as one of four children. She graduated William Chrisman High School in 1967 and afterwards worked for a bank on the square. Susan later married and raised two girls whom she was so proud of. Starting in 1996 she worked for CBIZ Benefits and Insurance as their Commissions Accountant. Susan was a long time member of Church on the Rock Outreach Center where she helped with the Information Center and Hospitality. She enjoyed handiwork like crochet and tatting and was her grandchildren’s number one fan when it came to their activities. Susan is remembered for her great sense of humor and loving heart.
She is survived by daughters, Carrie Ann Bauer and husband Brad of Kansas City, MO; Adrian Zeiler and husband Rick of Independence, MO; grandchildren, Raymond Bauer, Nathan Zeiler, Christian Bauer, Makayla Bauer, Celeste Zeiler, and Noah Zeiler; siblings, Jeannette Lightfoot and husband Donnie of Polk, MO; George E. Wagener and wife Linda of Independence, MO; Roy Wagener and wife Pat of Grain Valley, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
