Brandon Kerns passed away on September 15, 2021 at the age of 27. Brandon was born on January 29, 1994 to Franklin and Charlotte Kerns. Brandon graduated from Blue Springs South High School, then went on to get a Bachelor of Science degree from UMKC and graduated from UMKC law. Brandon became a member of the Missouri Bar or September 16, 2020 where he was sworn in at the Missouri Supreme Court and later into the Kansas Supreme Court. Brandon was an Assistant Missouri Attorney General in the Litigation Division at the time of his passing. Brandon is preceded in death by his father, Franklin Kerns; his paternal grandparents, Dwight and Freida Kerns, and his maternal grandparents, George and Della Morris. He is survived by his mother, Charlotte Kerns; his sisters, Amy Myers (Bob) and Laura Smith; his brother, Timothy Smith, and his niece and nephews. Brandon loved spending time with his family and friends. Brandon followed in his father's footsteps and became an Eagle Scout with a Bronze Palm. He loved the outdoors, camping, hiking, kayaking, and talking around the fire-pit. Brandon was always ready with words of encouragement for others. His quick wit and one liners, along with his love of being the ultimate sesquipedalian always made us laugh. Brandon loved his KC sports teams. We love you dearly and miss you terribly Simba.
