Fredia L. Kerns

Freida Louise Kerns, 80 of Independence, MO passed away Fri, Jul 1, 2005 at the Independence Regional Health Center. Visitation will be from 10 - 11:00 am, Thu, Jul 7, 2005 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Indep. MO with the service being held at 11:00 am. Burial in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the Blue Ridge Boulevard Christian Church Memorial Fund or the Alzheimer�s Association. Mrs. Kerns was born on Nov 28, 1924 to Charles and Harriet (Culley) Austin in St. Elmo, Il and had lived in the Independence area most of her life. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed Painting, crocheting, sewing and many other crafts. She had been a member of the Real McCoy�s extension club for over 47 years. For many years she had been active in the PTA and in the Mothers Boy Scout Club for troup 216. Freida was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dwight T. Kerns of Independence, MO. Two sons, Frank Kerns and wife Charlotte of Raytown, MO and Harold Kerns and wife Laura of Savannah, MO. Three grandchildren, three step grandchildren and a step great grandson.
