M. Wayne Kessler, 78 of Blue Springs, MO passed away, Friday, June 14, 2013 at his residence.
Services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Park Lawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Monday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made in his name to Southern Care Hospice.
Wayne was born March 31, 1935 in Columbus, MO to Marion F. and Anna Mae (Bell) Kessler and has been a longtime Blue Springs resident. He was a prosthetist and had owned and operated Kansas City Artificial Limbs for nearly 50 years. He was very dedicated and passionate about his work and truly enjoyed helping people. He also enjoyed country music, antique cars, relaxing at the lake and most of all spending time with his family. He graduated from Central High School in 1953 and later received his prosthetic certification from Northwestern University. He was married to Deanna Schamback on November 8, 1952; she survives of the home.
Other survivors include; a daughter, Dianna Ward and husband Jerry of Blue Springs, MO; 3 sons, Kenneth Kessler and wife Linda of Independence, MO, Robert Kessler and wife Lanette and James Kessler and wife Patti all of Blue Springs, MO; 2 brothers, Robert D. Kessler and wife Karen of Lenexa, KS and Charles Kessler of Kansas City, MO; a sister, Fran White of Kansas City, MO; his step mother, Mildred Young of Merriam, KS; 8 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, David Kessler in 1985.
