Yong Ung Kim

Yong Ung Kim, 77, Lee’s Summit, MO passed away July 19, 2019. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00pm, Thursday, July 25th, with a funeral service at 10:00am on Friday, July 26th, both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Interment will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery.

Yong Ung was born October 5, 1941 in Seoul, South Korea. He and his family came to the United States in 1976. He was a very active member of the Korean Antioch Church of the Nazarene in Kansas City, KS and spent his life glorifying the Lord and putting others first.

He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. Yong Ung is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mi Dae Ja Kim in 2010. He is survived by his son Jin Hong Kim, Lee’s Summit, MO; daughter Sae-Jin Kim Stigman, Weston, MO; son Jong Su Kim, Shawnee, KS; daughter Ruth Mi-Yong Kim, Lee’s Summit, MO; 1 brother and 3 sisters, as well as, six grandchildren.
