Kimberly was a woman of remarkable character and the embodiment of kindness and unconditional love, graced this world on September 29th, 1961, in Kirksville, Missouri. After a valiant six-year struggle against breast cancer, she peacefully passed away on July 15th, 2023, in Kansas City, Missouri.

 

Throughout her life, Kimberly's gentle spirit and unwavering strength touched the lives of countless individuals. Her capacity for compassion and selflessness made her a beacon of light and an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

 

Despite the challenges she faced, Kimberly faced her battle with breast cancer head-on, demonstrating immense courage and resilience. Her resolute determination and love during the time stood as a testament to her unconquerable spirit.

 

Kimberly's impact extended far beyond her personal struggles. She consistently showered those around her with kindness, compassion, and unconditional love. Her genuine concern for others and her ability to make everyone feel valued and heard made her an extraordinary presence in the lives of her family, friends, and community.

 

While her physical presence may be absent, Kimberly's legacy of love and compassion will forever endure. Her memory will serve as a reminder of the immense power of kindness and the profound impact one individual can have on the world.

 

Kimberly, fondly known as Kay, was raised in Memphis, Missouri, by her loving parents, Norma and Robert Mendenhall. Growing up with her four older brothers, Larry Tinkle, Ron Tinkle, Rick Tinkle, and Timothy Mendenhall, Kay nurtured a profound appreciation for family bonds and cultivated an unwavering spirit of resilience.

 

After her first marriage, Kay embarked on a new chapter in her life and relocated to Kirksville with her son Cody Persell. It was there that she found true love and companionship when she met her beloved husband, John Joseph "Joey" Anesi. Together, they welcomed their precious son, John "Josey" Anesi, into the world, completing their loving family.

 

In her later years, Kimberly found joy in calling Kansas City, Missouri, her home. She treasured every precious moment shared with her adored grandchildren, Sophia Persell and Vitali Anesi, as well as her beloved sons, Josey Anesi and Cody Persell. Alongside them, her daughters-in-law, Amy Persell and Autumn Anesi, added to the richness of her life. Their laughter, love, and cherished bonds brought immeasurable happiness and fulfillment to her heart.

 

The impact Kimberly made on those around her will forever be remembered. Her legacy of love, compassion, and strength will continue to inspire generations to come. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have shared in her life's journey.

Above all else, Kimberley was a devoted and loving mother, wife, and sister, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her selflessness, kindness, and unwavering support were a source of inspiration to everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

 

She will be deeply missed by her children, Cody and Josey; her spouse, Joey Anesi; her grandchildren, Sophia and Vitali; her siblings, Rick, Ron, and Larry; as well as her extended family and friends.

 

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the healthcare professionals at St. Lukes's Hospice, friends, and family members who provided exceptional care, support, and comfort during Kimberley's final days.

 

 

A celebration of Kimberley's life will be held at Six Mile Baptist Church in Sibley, Missouri, on July 22nd, 2023.  The visitation will be from 2-3 pm and the service from 3-4 pm. Friends and family are invited to come together to share stories and memories and offer support during this difficult time.

 

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family kindly requests only kind words, thoughts, and prayers.

 

As we bid farewell to Kimberly, let us remember her with profound love and gratitude, cherishing the cherished memories we shared. Though she may be physically absent, her spirit will forever radiate within our hearts, bringing comfort and solace in our moments of remembrance.

 

In this time of sorrow, let us find solace in the belief that Kimberly has been welcomed with open arms by Jesus, finding eternal peace and serenity in His loving embrace.

 

May we carry Kimberly's legacy of love, compassion, and strength within us, emulating her kindness and selflessness in our own lives.
