Timothy Peter Kimsey, 64, Independence, MO passed away Aug. 22, 2007. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am, Monday, Aug. 27, 2007 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Independence; interment at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 3-5 pm, Sunday at Speaks Suburban Chapel. The family requests contributions to City Union Mission, Christ United Methodist Church, St. Mark’s Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
Tim was born Dec. 20, 1942 in Boise, ID to Orville Fredrick Kimsey and Helen Marie (Schmitt) Kimsey. He graduated from Rockhurst High School in 1959 and then earned a BS in Mathematics and Physics from Regis College in Denver, CO in 1963.
Tim was the owner and President of Kim Supply, Inc., a car wash manufacturing and distribution company since 1977. He served on the Board of the National Car Wash Council and a member of the International Car Wash Association, where he was a guest speaker at conventions. He was a member of the Kansas City Club where he served on the Board of Directors, a Past President of the 611 Club (an organization within the Kansas City Club), a founding member of the Junior Club of the Kansas City Club, Past President of the Tomasha Homeowners Association and had served on the Storm Water Advisory Board for the City of Independence. Tim was an avid skier and a past member of the Kansas City Ski Club. He loved to dream and invent �" he holds the patents to two medical devices. He loved to travel and traveled extensively worldwide.
Tim was preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Linda Kimsey, of the home; mother-in-law Lorine Grantham, Kansas City, MO; in-laws Dwight and Elaine Grantham, Atlantic, IA; LaVergne and Mary Pabian, Columbus, OH; eight nieces and nephews; five great-nieces and nephews and many friends, family and business associates.
