Ava L. Kincaid, 89 of Independence passed away Mon. Sep 13, 2004 at the Independence Health Care Center. Services will be 10:00 am, Tue Sep 21, 2004 at the George C. Carson & Sons Funeral Home. Burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 - 8:30 pm Monday at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Kincaid was born on Jan 1, 1915 to Edgar and Hattie Huston in Climax Springs, MO and had lived in this area most of her life. She had been a Case Worker and Manager with the Social Security Administration for 25 years, retiring in 1980. She had a love and talent for Cooking, sewing, gardening, playing the piano, and yard work. She was a member of the Federal Civil Service Retirees Association and of Rockwood Baptist Church. The church was central in Ava�s life. Along with supporting her husband, Elvie in his various positions at church, they sang together in the choir and lead in Training Union. She also served for many years as Sunday School Department Secretary. She was a devoted wife and mother. Ava was preceded in death by her husband Elvie Kincaid in 1992 and a son, Larry Kincaid in 1986. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Marilyn K. and Donald E. Clines, of Inverness, FL. Two granddaughters, Janice L. Byrd of Independence, MO and Monica J. Winslow of Pleasant Hill, MO. Five grandchildren, Ashtin, Jordan, Codi, Coleman,, and Brodi.
