Agnes Mary King

Agnes Mary (Westhoff) King, 97 of Windsor, CO died Thu. Aug. 11, 2005 at Windsor, Colorado Health Care Center. She was born on Feb. 19, 1908 in Aholt, MO. The first child of Joseph H. and Mary A. (Brand) Weshoff, She attended school in Glasgow, MO. Agnes grew up in Glasgow, MO with her 6 brothers and sisters. She went to Kansas City, MO to work when she was in her late teens. She loved to go dancing on her day off and that�s where she met her future husband, Walter King. They were married Aug 21, 1933 and continued dancing the 55 years of their marriage. Walter was a widower and had a son, Wayne. Together they had one child, a daughter, Betty Ann. They made their home in Kansas City, KS for 55 years. Agnes was active in her Church, St. Benedicts, and was a Brownie leader for Betty Ann. Agnes and her husband, Walter, belonged to the "Union Pacific Old Timers� club, Aux. #4 and American Legion, Aux. #83.They also did a lot of volunteer work for the Kansas Seniors. Agnes worked part time at the Forum Cafeteria, Emery Byrd Taylor and Montgomery Ward. In 1988, Agnes and Walter moved to Windsor, MO to be near their daughter. Walter�s health was bad and he passed away in 1988. Mrs. King moved to Windsor, CO five years ago to be near her daughter, Betty. Besides being a wonderful homemaker, Agnes enjoyed crocheting, gardening and cooking big family dinners. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Windsor, Co. She will be remembered as a loving Mother and Grandmother with many friends. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Johnston-Tallman and husband, Russell Tallman of Windsor, a stepson, J. Wayne King of Prairie Village, KS. A sister, Rita Jiampetti of New Jersey, four grandchildren, Mike Thomas, Linda Lamb, Steven King and Nicole Roberts, five great grandchildren, Tiffany Jones, Valerie Everhart, Sally Sneed, Craig Thomas and BreAnn Stephenson, and three great great grandchildren, Jenna and Trenton Jones and Bryson Everhart. In addition to her husband, parents, three brothers and two sisters, she sadly lost a grandson, Mark Thomas. Mrs. King will have a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John LaLande Catholic Church, 805 N.W. R.D. Mize Rd, Blue Springs, MO on Monday, Aug 15, 2005 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be from 10:15 - 11:00 am immediately preceding the Mass.. A second Visitation and interment will be 2 pm, Tue, Aug 16, 2005 in the Mount Calvary Mausoleum, Kansas City, KS. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Agnes King Memorial Fund in care of Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, MO 64052.
