David E. King, 67, Independence, MO passed away unexpectedly Feb. 20, 2017. Memorial services will be 10 am, Monday, Feb. 27 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; inurnment at Blue Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-5 pm, Sunday at the chapel.
David was born Nov. 29, 1949 in Kansas City, MO and graduated from William Chrisman High School in the Class of 1968. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked at the Lake City Plant for over thirty-one years before retiring in 2012. David was a member of the Maywood Baptist Church. He enjoyed running, biking, building with Legos, model trains and was a car enthusiast who took his Corvettes and a custom truck to car shows in the area. He was a block captain for the Whispering Meadows Home Owners Association, volunteered at Union Station to help maintain the model railroads on display there and was a member of the Lego Brick Lab.
David is survived by his daughter Andrea Arndt and husband Eric; son Ryan King, all of Blue Springs, MO; brothers Clifford King, Liberty, MO; Howard King and wife Florence, Versailles, MO; sister Carol Stout, Temple, TX and grandsons Maximilian & Benjamin Johnson.
