Harold King, 94, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055. A graveside service will take place with military honors at Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville, MO at 10am on Tuesday, February 6, 2018.
Harold was born on March 14, 1923 to Alexander Hubbard “A.H.” and Mabel Ruth (Peyton) King. Shortly after high school he enlisted in the United States Army and served during WWII. Throughout his career, he worked as a police officer, highway patrol officer and an investigator at a law firm. In his spare time he loved being with family and taking pictures of them. Harold was life long member of VFW Post 1000.
He will be remembered by his step-son Eddie Logwood and wife Judy of Harrisonville, MO; grandson Brett Logwood of Olathe, KS; granddaughter Renee Strohm and husband Michael of Liberty, MO; great-grandchildren Shane Logwood, Jenna Logwood, Blake Strohm, and Oliver Strohm.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nola King, brother Robert “Bob” King, and sisters Helen Strawn and Carolyn “Patsy” Harrison.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
