Jean King, 87, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018. A visitation will be held from 1-2pm on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Independence, MO, 64050. A service will follow at 2pm at the chapel.
Jean was born on August 20, 1930 to H.G. and Lucille Hammons. She worked as an accountant and had several other jobs in her off time. She liked to cook and crochet, even in her later years. Jean was a past member of Carlisle Baptist Church and Beverly Hills Baptist church. She was involved in many church activities but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She will be remembered by her daughter Deborah Knauss and husband Ralph of Indianapolis, IN; son Randy King and wife Christi of Blue Springs, MO; sisters Leah Jerome of Hutchison, KS and Paula Williams of Creighton, MO; brothers H.G. Hammons and wife Brenda of Independence, MO, C.R. Hammons and wife Diane of Neosho, MO; grandchildren Johanna Lindsey (Jason), Justin Manza-King (Jenna), Emily Lines, Brittney Hoffman (Clayton), Anthony Vidiri; great-grandchildren Keile Graham, Aden Manza-King, Olivia Walker, Audrey Manza-King, Cruz Lindsey, Lincoln Manza-King, Avery Hoffman, Justice Manza-King; plus several other extended family members.
Jean was preceded in death by her grandson Randall King II in 2003 and her husband of 60 years, William King, in 2013.
