Jerry King, 62, of Independence, MO, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at his home. A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO, 64055. Jerry was born on April 24, 1954 in Camdenton, MO to Arthur and Ilene King. After proudly serving in the United States Air Force, he worked as a utility operator for Bayer. He was an Honorary Warrior in the tribe of Mic-O-Say, Boy Scout Leader for Troop 406 where his 5 sons obtained Eagle Scout, and a member of VFW Post 499. In his spare time he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed reading, fishing, sailing, camping, and hiking. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Jerry will be remembered by his loving wife Carla, 5 sons: Christopher King (Nancy Heil), Jeffrey King (Marisa), Stephen King (Karly) Bradley Baker (Angela), Matthew Baker (Dalya); mother Ilene King; sister Kathryn King; and 9.5 grandchildren: Jacob, Joshua, Riley, Rebekah, Daniel, Bailey, Eleanor, Adelyn, Audrey and John on the way.
