Juanita Mae King, 85, of Sugar Creek, passed away on July 25, 2013, at her residence.
A private family celebration of life service is planned at a later date.
Juanita was born on November 8, 1927, in Topeka, KS, the daughter of John W. Guffey and Marguerite Nadine (Howard) Curtis.
Juanita enjoyed spending time with her family, going to garage sales and thrift shops, watching Wheel of Fortune and Young and the Restless, and spending time floating on the lake in past summers.
She is survived by: one daughter, Cynthia Burgin, Sugar Creek; six grandchildren, Heather Haskins, Clinton; Marshall Hendley, Kansas City; Chrissy Wyble, Independence; Warren Nations, Sugar Creek; Jeffrey Nations, Sugar Creek; and Stephen Bloomfield, Sugar Creek; five great-grandsons and five great-granddaughters; one brother, Willard Glen Guffey, Topeka, KS; one sister, Margie Ladish, Longview, TX; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her husband, H.J. King; daughter, Susan Juanita Graves; grandson, Justin Daniel Burch; and her parents.
